Spyro the Dragon

Chapter 1

By, InvaderScuzz and Cartooncritic01

Legend tells of dragons with purple scales who commanded all the elements. These dragons were destined for greatness or infamy; this is the tale of one of these creatures. He will rise against a mighty evil and befriend powerful beings. But heroes are not born they are made, and this tale will depict the growth of the hero of Avalar. This is the legend of Spyro.

The Dragonfly village slept in the swamp. The moss slowly grew along the surface of clear waters. The swamp gas hung in the air and stank of mildew. And the blue moon naturally lit up the trees. All was quiet and peaceful. At the edge of the village was a cottage. There lived a strange family. Flash & Nina were the parents of a Dragonfly, Sparx. They were also the adoptive parents of a Purple Dragon named Spyro. He has lived in the village his whole life, and has accepted the dragonflies as his family. He slept upstairs with his brother Sparx. The room was decorated with local masks, posters, and artwork. It was not an easy sleep, Spyro tossed and turned at the images in his dreams. Vivid saddening images, He awoke sweating in a panic. In an instant the memories of the dream faded into his subconscious. He was left alone and afraid.

Wiping away the sweat, he turned to the small lantern that Sparx slept in.

Spyro: Sparx, you awake?

Sparx: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ…

Spyro: Sparx.

Sparx: Hmmmm…ZZZZZZZ…

Spyro: Sparx!

Sparx: Ahh! What?! What is it, dude?!

Spyro: I had another nightmare.

Sparx: (half-asleep) Good for you, Mom must be very proud. Can I go back to sleep now?

Spyro: I’m being serious. It was even worse this time.

Sparx: Why? What happened?

Spyro: I can’t remember. But it feels so familiar, like it really happened.

Sparx: Ok.

Spyro: I don’t understand it; this nightmare keeps coming back. Do you think it’s trying to tell me something?

Sparx: So you keep waking up from a nightmare you can’t remember, and now you’re convinced that this nightmare really happened? Maybe you got Alzheimer’s or something, dude.

Spyro: (laughs sarcastically) Yeah thanks, Sparx.

Sparx: Just try to get over it and get some sleep. It’s our turn to get the fire wood tomorrow.

Spyro: (dejected) Oh, right it is our turn again, isn’t it?

Sparx: Well more like YOUR turn since you can carry more wood than me.

Spyro: (laughs) Yeah right. Goodnight, Sparx.

Sparx: Nighty-night, fatty.

Spyro turned his head and spat a small fireball at the lantern making it jerk.

Sparx: Ahh!!! It was a joke, dude chill!

Next Morning…

It was a cool morning in the village began as it began like any other average day. Any one who awoke did to a glorious morning. The smell of moms cooking made Sparx wake up almost immediately, he stretched and yawned, hovering slowly to the mirror in their bathroom, Sparx rubbed his eyes, splashed water to his face, and thought about leaving Spyro so he could have the best eats. Considering Spyro normally attempts to singe his wings or locks him in his lantern for doing that. So Sparx decided to just wake is brother.

Sparx: Morning, dreamer boy.

Spyro: (Yawn) Morning, Sparx.

The two began their ritual of brushing their teeth. Spyro flossed his fangs and sparks gargled. Spyro put on his favorite outfit: light brown scarf and gloves, while sparx grabbed his own pair of black gloves and his hide jacket, sparx admired himself in the mirror

Sparx: Total hunk fly huh, fatty?

Spyro laughed at him.

Spyro: Yeah, like a swamp troll

Nina came into the room, wearing her morning dress, she always had a warm glow about her; cheery and motherly. Sparx and Spyro adored there mother. She spoke in her almost angelic voice.

Nina: Sparky, Spyro, I made breakfast. You boys did such a good job getting river cherries, now the entire village has enough to last a year. I suppose that's a bonus of having a dragon who can carry his weight of berries and a son that can out fly some of the fastest gatherers in the village.

Sparx: No problem Mom, anything to help

Spyro: Well I eat more than every ken since I'm so big, it's the least I can do, Mom.

Nina: Well anyway I decided to make your favorite breakfast, bread and jam. Consider it a reward for your hard work

They smiled ear to ear, the awesome smell meant that there dreams came true. It was there favorite breakfast; warm almond bread with coin omen dust and river cherry jam, heated warm and poles sent with sweet honey roasted seeds inside. The boys normally don't get this unless it’s a special occasion, but each time they do, it's an explosion of decadence.

Sparx: Race ya!

Sparx quickly flies out of his lantern to the stairs.

Spyro: Hey, no fair!!

Spyro quickly tackled Sparx and the two fell down the stairs, spyro had to clutch Sparx close so Sparx won't get crushed.  Nina was startled by the fall.

Nina: Spyro! I said no racing in the house! You'll crush your brother

Spyro: He started it.

Sparx: You’re lucky you didn’t squish me, dude. It's okay mom, I'm fine, not the first time fatty nearly killed me.

There father looked up from his plate, Flash was a wood worker, his job, to uses the alarming strength to cut down branches to make homes and furniture with.

Flash: That’s enough! Come get some breakfast you two. Don’t forget, it’s your turn to get today’s firewood.

Spyro: Ugh. Don’t remind me.

Flash: Great grub, love, sweat and delicate like you.

Nina smiled warmly at him.

Nina: Thank you dear.

Spyro’s parents were normally up early. Nina was thin, bright green with curled antennae. She was sweet and protective, she never got mad, she would seem sad or disappointed if her children misbehaved. They hated seeing her upset, so try to do good by her.  Flash, on the other hand was the opposite; bulkier, blue and had thicker antennae, and a bit of stubble. He was tougher around the edges, he was the one that dealt with discipline he only needed to raise his voice, he was a good father however. Nina had laid out a breakfast of jam and bread and Flash was drinking some coffee. As Spyro and Sparx began to eat Nina noticed Spyro looked a little beat.

Nina: Honey, what’s wrong? You look tired.

Spyro: Nothing Mom, it was just that dream again. It felt even worse this time.

Nina: I’m sorry to hear that. Here, you can have extra jam with your bread.

Spyro: Thanks, Mom.

Sparx: What? He gets extra jam just because of a nightmare?

Flash: Sparx, give your brother a break. Spyro I’m sure it’s nothing more than a nightmare.

Flash: Your chores will take your mind off it. Speaking of which we need some redwood lumber, so you’ll have to venture a little further to find some. Nothing like a few blisters on the hands to remind you that hardwork makes you a man.

Spyro: You mean, outside the region? I’ve never been out there.

Sparx: Neither have I.

Flash: Relax, you two will be fine. I was younger than both of you when I went with my Father.

Spyro: Eh, I don’t know.

Sparx: Let’s just get this over with dude, when we get back, we can go set things on fire in the back woods.

Spyro: Ok that could be fun.

Flash: That’s the spirit, boys! In fact, why not get started early?

Spyro & Sparx: What? But Dad…

Flash: Now you two.

Nina: You can take your breakfast with you.

Spyro and Sparx quickly stuffed bread into their mouths and left to start the chore.

The walk was silent at first. The two have never ventured beyond the region of the swamp or the forest. The sun was shinning bright and the trees were growing fewer and fewer. Soon they would come to the Redwood Trees.

Sparx: Can’t believe you got more jam than me.

Spyro: I saved you a piece of bread, you big baby.

Spyro reached into his scarf and pulled out some bread and handed it to Sparx.

Sparx: (mouthful) thanks. What do you think the outer region will look like?

Spyro: Don’t know. Now that I think about it, this is the farthest we’ve ever been outside the village.

Sparx: Yeah, you’re right. We need to get out more.

Spyro: Do you think we’ll ever get out of this place?

Sparx: What do you mean?

Spyro: I don’t know, sometimes I feel like there has to be more to our lives than just this.

Sparx: Dude I’ve barely even left the forest, you don’t hear me complaining.

Spyro: Nevermind, forget I said anything.

Meanwhile…

Not too far away was a cheetah huntsman who was taking his 2 new disciples to Warfang. Hunter wore leather armor and carried a large machete on his back. His disciples were lava Dragons from the slums of Skelos Badlands; a Red Dragon named Flame and a pink Dragon Ember. Each wore a chain necklace and black leather gloves. Hunter has traveled far with them, allowing them to help with his errands across Avalar. They were tired from the trip and glad to know Warfang wasn’t far.

Flame: How much further do we have to go?

Ember: Yeah, my feet are killing me.

Hunter: Well first we have to stop by Fracture Hills, and then we’ll take the bridge to Warfang.

Flame: Great! I can’t wait to show everyone what a champion I am!

Ember: Yeah, a champion of Dorks.

Hunter’s ears suddenly twitched. He quickly signaled his disciples to jump up into a nearby tree with him. They now had a good view of the forest floor.

Flame: What is it?

Hunter: Shhh!

Flame: (whispering) what is it?

Hunter: (whispering) there!

They spotted a young purple Dragon and a dragonfly walking among the forest. Hunter looked surprised when he spotted him.

Hunter: (whispering) A purple Dragon? I don’t believe it.

Flame: (whispering) Never thought I’d see one of those. He doesn’t look so tough.

Ember: (whispering) I think he’s kind of cute.

Flame: CUTE?!

Hunter: Shhh!

Ember: (whispering) what do we do?

Hunter: (whispering) I want you to go down there and challenge him.

Flame: (whispering) Awesome!

Ember: (whispering) Why? He’s hasn’t done anything.

Hunter: (whispering) Trust me, here’s what I want you to do...

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Spyro and Sparx were arriving at the redwood trees. Relieved that they can get the job over with, they got straight to work. They picked only what branches that fell to the ground. This way nothing was wasted, flash taught them that the village never takes any more then needed and Always uses everything gathered, they were taught the values in every last branch.

Spyro: Ok, you know the drill. Look for any dead branches.

Sparx: yeah yeah, I know.

Spyro heaved the first branch he found. Without warning a large wave of fire shot through the air setting the branch into flames; along with the other surrounding branches. Before Spyro could even process what happened, a blur of pink and red zipped past him and trapped Sparx inside a jar.

Sparx: Hey What?!! Let me go!!

Spyro turned to see two teenage Dragons no older than him; one pink and the other Red. The pink one had his brother concealed in a jar.

Ember: Check it out, I got another filthy Dragonfly!

Flame: Sweet, what do you think we should do with him?

Ember: How does extra crispy sound?

Sparx: (nervously) I know it’s ironic to say I'm normally a glass half full kinda guy. But I don’t feel like getting barbequed today! Spyro, help me!

Spyro: Hey! Let him go!

Flame: Come over here and make us, pipsqueak!

Ember: C’mon, tough guy let’s dance. I’ll let you lead.

In a blind rage, Spyro ran to the two Dragons ready to fight. In a blink of an eye, Flame delivers a punch to his face, and a kick to the stomach from Ember followed. Spyro fell to the ground as the sharp pain shot through his body. He lost his breath.

Flame knelt over Spyro.

Flame: I knew you weren’t so tough. You’re a bit too soft

Spyro suddenly jumped up and slugged Flame in the Face knocking him to the ground. Ember rushed to help him, but was met with an elbow strike to her face. She held her nose and began sobbing.

Ember: (crying) Ow! Why would you hit a girl?! That really hurt!

Spyro: I…I’m sorry it was a refle-

He was quickly cut off with a punch to his face. Spyro felt anger and shame for falling for her trick

Ember: Ha! Psyche!

Sparx: Spyro! Watch out for the knee!

Spyro: Huh? What knee?

Spyro then received another solid kick to his gut from Ember.

Sparx: Ha! You got hit by a girl. Twice!

Spyro: (annoyed) you know *cough* I could leave you in that jar.

The Fight went on for 15 minutes, each Dragon countering blow for blow. Sparx lay in the jar and watched. The dragons traded blows. The two lava dragons were clearly better trained, Spyro just tossed punches wherever he could

Sparx: Hey! Remember me? The Dragonfly in the jar? I’m getting bored here, is anyone tap out soon?

Flame placed his paw on top of the jar. He began crushing the jar causing it to crack.

Flame: I agree; I’m sick of knocking this small fry around. Let’s just squish this thing, and call it a day.

Spyro heard the glass of the jar cracking sparx screamed like a girl flouting

Spyro: SPARX NO!!!! DON’T YOU DARE OR I’LL BURN YOU ALIVE!!!

Flame: Give me a break, I swim in Lava. You think a little fire will hurt me?

In blind rage Spyro opened his mouth and fired a large fireball right at Flame. Flame felt the air as it became super heated. The heat was overwhelming. Flame felt it, for the first time in his life he sweated from the heat. He knew the fireball would burn into his scales and flesh. He knew he was caught off guard; the fireball was much too big and fast to dodge. Flame closed his eyes and prepared for the worst.

In a flash Hunter leaped from the trees, seconds before the fireball hit. His whiskers seared from the heatwave. Ember covered her eyes, she thought they both were finished.

Hunter: (yells) ENOUGH!!!

As soon as he landed he let out a thundering roar that forced the fireball into the air where it exploded. Spyro marveled at this mysterious stranger who made a fireball vanish without breaking a sweat. The feline smiled a look of boldness confidence.

Hunter: Let the insect go. I’ve seen everything I needed to see.

Ember opened the jar and let Sparx free.

Ember: Ok, there you go little guy.

Spyro: (confused) What’s going on here? Now you’re helping me? Who are you people?

Hunter: Forgive me, kid. But I wanted to see what you were capable of. I am Hunter, and these are my disciples, Flame and Ember.

Flame: Dude. I’m sweating! I never sweat from heat before! How did he do that? What are you, some kind of freak?

Spyro: Shut up! I never fired anything like that before.

Hunter: That is the fire of the Purple Dragon. A powerful flame like that can easily burn lava dragons like those two. But you still need practice. It’s like a candle kid, it's hot and dangerous sure, but not strong enough to resist being blown away.

Spyro: Wait, what do you mean, Purple Dragon?

Ember: You mean you don’t know?

Spyro: Know what? What are you talking about?

Hunter: Young man, you are a very special kind of Dragon. A purple Dragon is born every 50 years. You see the Dragons of Avalar are remarkable creatures who can bend the world’s elements to their will. They can only command one at a time, but a Purple Dragon can command all of them at once, even ones that are still yet to be mastered. You are destined for great things mister… I’m sorry I haven’t asked your name.

Spyro: (dis-belief) It’s… it’s Spyro. So I’m like in a once-in-a-lifetime rare Dragon? I… I don’t know what to say.

Hunter: I know what to say, I say you are my newest disciple. I think you should meet the king Ignitus. We should leave at once!

Spyro: Woah, I can’t leave. I have to talk to my parents about this. They’re back at the Dragonfly village.

Hunter: Oh of course. Lead the way there young man.

As they turned to walk to the village, Spyro suddenly winced as he felt blood leaked from his nose. Ember quickly rushed to his side.

Ember: Oh my Gosh, you’re bleeding!

Spyro: It’s not that bad.

Ember: I’m so sorry; I must’ve punched too hard.

She held a cloth up to Spyro’s muzzle.

Ember: (cooing) Here, does that feel better?

Spyro gazed into Ember’s blue eyes as she dried the blood.

Spyro: (blushing) Yeah that does feel better.

Ember blushed back.

Flame: I’m bleeding too dude.

Ember tosses the cloth onto Flame’s face.

Flame: Thank you.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

The walk back home was filled with conversation. Hunter was sharing wisdom with his disciples, he explained to Spyro how he trains recruits at the Academy in hand to hand combat and field skills, and Sparx was making obnoxious jokes as usual. As they got deeper into the swamp Spyro remained quiet, still letting the revelation of who he is sink in. It was so much to process; he was a rare Dragon this whole time and never knew.

Ember noticed Spyro’s silence.

Ember: You’re awfully quiet, purple boy.

Spyro: I just got a lot on my mind, that’s all.

Ember: You said you live in a Dragonfly Village. Your parents are Dragons, right?

Spyro: No, they’re Dragonflies. I was adopted.

Flame: You live with a family of bugs? I knew you were a freak.

Ember: Flame!

Sparx: Shut up you stupid, Lizard!

Flame attempts to attack Sparx, but is snatched up by Hunter.

Flame: C’mon Hunter! Lemme hit em, I'll squash that bug!

Hunter: You called him a freaky bug, he called you a stupid Lizard. I think that is quite even.

Flame pouted with an angry scowl. It was then that Spyro realized something.

Spyro: Oh my gosh, Sparx! We forgot the Redwood!

Sparx: Oh man, Dad’s going to kill us!

Ember: What are you talking about?

Spyro: We were out by those trees collecting Redwood for the fire. Dad hates it when we don’t finish our chores. He doesnt like it when we slack off.

Hunter: Relax, Spyro. I’m sure Flame would be happy to get you some more.

Flame: What, Me?! Why?!

Hunter: Because you were the one who set their wood on fire. I said challenge him, not destroy his chores. Plus, his village needs firewood. You endangered a village by nearly setting the woods on fire.

Flame: Ugh!! Fine!!!

Flame stormed off into the distance to do the deed.

Spyro: Is he always like that?

Ember: He doesn’t mean it. He’s really sweet when you get to know him.

Sparx: About as sweet as a rotten lemon.

Spyro: You two friends?

Ember: I’ve known him since I was a little girl.

Spyro: How long have you known Hunter?

Ember: We met him a long time ago in our home, the Skelos Badlands.

Spyro: Skelos Badlands? You’re from the desert? Wow.

Ember: There were hundreds of potential disciples, and he picked us. Whatever he saw in us, I think he sees it in you too.

Spyro: You think so?

Ember: I know so.

Spyro stopped walking. They had arrived at the village, which was now more active than earlier. Dragonflies were swarming back and forth among the dwellings.  They were preparing for the swamp floods as normal. Dwellings were put up in the trees for this event.

Spyro: My house is up the road. It’s the biggest one in the village.

Ember: This place is pretty. Never new dragon flies had such beautiful homes

Hunter: Indeed. Dragon flies keep to themselves, they have a lot of culture and history.

As they walked up to Spyro’s home, he signaled them to wait outside. He and Sparx entered their home and saw Nina doing dishes, and Flash nailing some new paintings.

Spyro: Mom, Dad we need to talk about something.

Nina: Oh you’re back, did you get the – Oh my gosh!!!

Nina quickly flies up to Spyro and hugs him.

Nina: Oh my poor little grapefruit! Are you ok?! Sparx what happened to him?!

Flash: Yeah, Sparx what happened to him?

Sparx: He got his butt kicked by a pink dragon girl. It was hillarious, I should have sold tickets.

Spyro: Guys relax. Just come outside and all will be explained.

They followed Spyro and Sparx out to greet Ember and Hunter. Flash and Nina gazed in awe of these two strangers.

Hunter: You must be Spyro’s parents. I am Hunter of Avalar and friend to King Ignitus.

Flash: Oh really? Well Mr. Hunter, would you mind explaining why my son is bruised?

Hunter: I apologize if my disciples were too rough. But I had to test your son’s skills. You see he’s a very special kind of Dragon. I want to take him with me to Warfang as my newest disciple.

Sparx: You guys beat him like a sack of dumb puppies, doesn’t sound so special to me.

Nina shoots him a stern glance. Sparx looks away whistling nervously.

Nina: Special or not, he’s my son! Why should I ever let you take him away?!

Hunter: A good mother protects her kin. I respect that, but you must understand he is different from other Dragons. His abilities will get out of control unless he’s properly trained.

Flash: That’s still not your right to decide! You don't know Spyro like we do, these are our boys and you’re not gonna separate them just because ones a rare species!

Spyro: What about what I want? You guys jumped me, put my brother in a jar, and now want to me to go with you? And leave my home behind? That's not what I want.

Sparx: I want a sandwich

Spyro: (sternly) Not now, Sparx.

Hunter looks at them understandably.

Hunter: You’re right, Spyro. It was unfair of me to assume you would want to leave right away. What do you want?

Spyro: Answers.

Flash: What? What you do mean?

Spyro: I never questioned it, but now I have a reason to. If I’m a rare Dragon, then where did I come from?

Flash: Wow that’s going back a long ways.

Nina: Well it was 12 years ago…

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

Flash and Nina were on their way home from their honeymoon in Dragon Shores. They were glad to finally be heading home as the forest was recovering from a bad storm. Flash had a bag full of gems he had won in a tournament for Black Jack. Thanks to his natural strength he was able to carry the bag with no trouble at all.

Flash: Didn’t I tell you Black Jack was my thing, sweetie?

Nina: I can’t believe we actually won!

Flash: Yeah, how’s THAT for a honeymoon? Now we can buy that condo, and start that family we’ve always talked about.

The conversation was cut by a sound in the distance.

Flash: What was that?

Nina: It came from over here, C’mon!

Nina flew off towards the sound. Flash quickly flew after her while still holding the gems. The sound leads her to a small shrub. She pushed aside some of the shrub and gasped at what she found.

Nina: Uh, Flash?

Flash catches up and sets the bag of gems down.

Flash: (panting) What is it?

He gazed into the shrub and saw a small purple baby Dragon. He was bruised and crying. Both looked around hastily.

Flash: Where are his parents?

Nina: (Yells) Hello?! Did anyone lose a baby?

No answer.

Nina: What do we do? We can’t just leave him here, he’ll die!

Flash: I… I don’t know, Nina.

A clap of thunder rumbled in the distance.

Flash: I guess we’ll just have to hold onto him until his parents find him.

Nina: Flash, are you sure we can even take care of him?

Flash: You know the law, we’ll send out flyers. If no one shows up to claim him within 12 days, we’ll hand him to the orphanage.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

Present Day…

Flash: So we brought you home, and sent out flyers but no one ever came to claim you.

Nina: You cried for weeks when we had you here, like you missed someone. You soon grew so attached to us and Sparx that we adopted you and made you part of our family.

Ember: That is so sad.

Hunter: How tragic. Your parent must have been worried.

Sparx: That explains why you guys never bought that condo. You had to make a bigger home for me.

Spyro: That’s it? That’s all you guys know?

Flash: Well we didn’t know your name. Your name came from the spiral tip on your tail.

Nina: I’m sure your real parents are out there some where, Spyro.

Spyro: I wish I could be that sure.

Hunter: Are you certain that Spyro can't come with me to be with other dragons?

Nina: Sir, I know that Spyro is different but he’s still our son. He can't just go with you, even if you know the king.

Hunter: What if I invite all you to the castle?

Flash: Wh.. What?!

Hunter: If I invite you to Warfang, you can see the academy, meet the king, and decide from there.

Nina: The castle... that's just crazy, no dragonfly has ever been inside.

Hunter: So what do you say?

Nina: I suppose if we’re with him.

Flash: I’ve always wanted to go to Warfang. The architecture is beautiful.

Hunter: Then it’s settled, only pack what you need, we have to move now if we’re going to reach Fracture Hills before dark. And bring weapons, if we don’t get there by dark, there’s a good chance we’ll run into a threat.

Flash: I wouldn’t worry about that, we have a Sting Flare.

Sparx: We can sting people?

Nina: No it’s not that kind of sting. You see, honey when Dragonflies are old enough we teach them to shoot fire bolts out of their hands.

Sparx: Why haven’t you taught me how to do that?! I was stuck in a jar earlier!

Flash: You’re too young, and you’re irresponsible. You and Sparx go upstairs and get packing.

The family took a good 15 minutes to gather their things chattering about as they quickly packed. Just as the group was ready for departure, they heard panting and gasping. They looked up ahead to see Flame carrying a large pile of logs and branches on his back. He collapsed from exhaustion just inches from Hunter and Ember.

Hunter: Oh Flame there you are.

Flame: I got the wood for you. I grabbed the biggest logs I could find, pretty impressive eh Ember?

Ember: Uhh, yeah about that…

Nina: Thank you, sweetie but we don’t really need that anymore. We’re coming with you to Warfang. And I think the rest of the village already collected their wood.

Flash: Can’t just leave it here either. You’re gonna have to take it back, kid.

Hunter: Atleast you got a good workout.

Flame: (Frustrated Sigh) Fine! I’ll just take it back then.

As he heaved the heavy lumber onto his back, Flash and Nina exchanged confused glances.

Flash: Why is he doing my son’s chores?

Hunter: He burned the wood your child already collected, which wasn’t part of my orders. It was only fair that he fixed what he broke.

Flash: Heh, I like you already.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

The group was now at the edge of the trail leading out of the Dragonfly Village. By now the village was still in sight. Spyro and Sparx turned to take one last look at it. All of their fondest memories began to flood back. Their only home, where they grew up; leaving was a bitter end.

Spyro: Goodbye, swamp.

Sparx: Hello, Adventure.

Hunter: Excited? I like that.

Ember: Trust me Spyro, you’re going to learn a lot of good things from him.

The group came across Flame disposing of the logs into the Redwoods. The walk back and forth tired him out, he found a tree and placed the firewood under it.

Flame: (Panting) Are you guys ready?

Hunter: Yes let’s get moving before the sun goes down.

Spyro: (Thinking) This can’t be real. My whole life I knew different, but I never thought I was this different. Now here I am a disciple to the king’s assistant! I don’t know where this sudden road in my life came from, but I can’t help but look forward to where it’s going. I gotta look forward, not back, and face whatever is in my path. Then maybe just maybe, I can find my parents and find out what happened that night.
